About the Author
My journey has never followed a straight line — and looking back, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
I didn’t really find my stride until my second year of college. I did well enough while earning my Associate of Science degree, that I received a full scholarship to the University of Colorado in Applied Mathematics. After Boulder, I returned to Southern California and took classes at CSULB, advanced topics in mathematics, never realizing how dramatically my life was about to change.
While attending classes, I was recruited by two engineers from Hughes Aircraft. What I thought would simply be a stepping stone became a remarkable 20-year adventure during one of the most intense technological periods in modern history — the Cold War.
Quickly placed on a fast track, I worked on top-secret projects in secure rooms with no windows. I upgraded radar systems for Navy and Air Force fighter jets, as well as ground-based and ship-based radar systems. Worked on satellite communications and, in the early 90s, working with another engineer we were assigned a groundbreaking nuclear fusion project—generating one million watts at approximately 100 GHz trying to contain a plasma field.
In 1996, I met a visionary developing a data-driven foreclosure website. That opportunity led to the launch of a business that would become the number one platform of its kind. By 1998, we had raised nearly $2 million and officially launched the company and platform which grew to nearly $60 million in annual gross revenue.
Just a few years later, life shifted in a far more personal direction when my mother became seriously ill with cancer. I made the decision to leave the business and move closer to her so I could help in any way I could. After she passed away, just eleven short months later, I spent the next few years traveling the world — exploring, learning, finding and rediscovering myself.
When I returned home to the States, I channeled my creativity into inventing once again. I founded two more successful businesses based on inventions I had developed. Eventually, I retired in the early 2010s and began enjoying life at a slower pace — playing golf, traveling less, and reflecting on everything life had brought me through.
I hadn’t realized it until then, but there was always this other passion quietly hibernating inside me just waiting to get out - storytelling. I felt like I had always had these stories inside me worthy to be told, but I never quite knew how to begin. Especially my story about my two older brothers that each passed away at the young age of 21. Before their lives had ever truly begun. After several false starts over the years, something finally clicked and everything changed during the quiet months of the COVID pandemic. The writing became easier and easier. Once I got serious, the stories began flowing. One book led to the next, and before I knew it, I had written five complete books.
Today, I’m excited to share these books with more readers than just my golf buddies. This website is the next step in that journey. Whether you enjoy stories drawn from a life of engineering, entrepreneurship, travel, and personal discovery, I hope you’ll join me on this new adventure and passion of mine.
And that brings me to today — building this website, sharing my work, and beginning an entirely new chapter in this beautiful and amazing journey through life.
Thank you for visiting. I truly appreciate your support.
