Lawns, Parks, and golf courses are disappearing in the name of water conservation and being turned into ‘Desert Landscaping.’ Builders are using it as an excuse to tear down beautiful golf courses and City Councils are more than happy to approve.
But what happens if we lose these vital green spaces and the oxygen they produce? Did you know that a single golf course or park produces enough Oxygen for between 6,000 to 10,000 people?
There are about 350 parks and around 80 golf courses in Las Vegas proper. That is enough Oxygen production for about 3 million people. Clark County has a population of about 2.5 million people. How many more parks being turned to ‘Desert Landscaping’ and golf courses being turned into housing can we lose?
